Friendly SMP Offical Launch
So as most of you know the end has been opened and with that I think I'm ready to make this post with all the changes that has happened up till now. Before that I just want to say thank you to everyone who has played and/or is still playing on the server and I hope you are making unforgettable memories :) We are a great community and I try to get to know each and every one of you because you have all chosen to play friendlysmp which has made my experience amazing. I also thank you for bearing through some of the issues we have had in our early stage as we are approaching almost a month being open and there has been plenty of downtime and maintenance and yes lag that I apolize for, with that Id like to say that 99% of this has been dealt with. There will be the ususal 2 automatic restarts a day and very rare downtime for maintenance and or updates/adding new plugins. The lag is gone :) and hopefully never comes back.
Here are a list of changes I've made big and small that most of you are aware of but ill list them all in one place:
Main Changes:
- Host Switch - I switched our vps host to a different host in a better location, this also came with upgrades to ram bandwith and cpu :)
- Clearlag Added - most of you know about this plugin, if you dont heres a quick explanation: Clearlagg's main feature is to automatically wipe items from the floor every interval set. We will not be using this feature to avoid players loosing their items when they die to this. Clear lagg was installed for another helpful feature that allows us to limit the amount of a specific or multiple different mobs or animals. This will allow us to avoid keep our entity count low without touching items from the floor. Our main issue for lag was villagers in massive amounts getting ticked in small areas. This is also used to avoid massive ammounts of endermen spawning in the end now as well with elytras being able to go from chunk to chunk at extreme speed causing them to spawn in. This has significantly reduced out lag to almost nothing with the occasionaly tps drop while the world automatically saves.
- Town Hall / Community Trading Centre & Farms - We are in the process of making one big community hall to provide a trading centre and farms for public use to the server. This should entice people to not have the need to make their own trading centres as we are trying to limit the amount of active villagers to load in one area (3-4 villagers for farming ect is fine!) This information in more detail will be added to the in game guides section under info!
- I think its safe to add here that Dynmap has been added back - you must have an account on the website to view it.
- The end is open ! Elytra will be sold by the admin to ensure everyone has access to one.
- World borders increase. The size of overworld and the end has increased each by 10k
- Vulcan Anticheat enabled and in full force!
- Helper & Moderator ranks have been added. These are the staff on friendlysmp to ensure your questions can be answered and to keep unfriendly players out of our server! Please thank them any chance you get for all they have done :)
Small Changes:
- /rtp & /wild has been changed to /tpr
- Mob spawning limit has been reduced a bit to ensure entity count stays low. (No lag)
Update 1.3
FriendlySMP Beta 1.0 Launch June 27, 2024
Theres been a few decent changes in the last few days I decided to record them once they were all done.
Main Changes:
- /rtp finally has a bigger radius
- Removed & Refunded Spartan anti cheat (Any server owners seeing this, do not pay for this plugin)
- Added vulcan Anti cheat works good so far
- Preloaded 80% of world chunks to improve performance
- Added a clear lag plugin to remove useless entitys and mobs to increase performance (Settings adjusted to keep mob farms/animal farms & items you die with from being removed)
- RAM + CPU Core increase (12 cores, 32 gb ram)
Extras:
- Leaf decay faster
- Xp pickup radius reduced (better for xp farms)
- Autorestart added (Server will restart twice a day automatially with 1 hour, 30 min & 10 minute warnings)
- luckperms updated
- Hopper & chest locks configured, don't need extra command

Changes made to server in first 24-48 hours!
- Removed dynmap for lag issues
- Updated to to newer PaperMC version to diagnose lag issue
- Updated Worldguard
- Banned our first hacker!
- Installed better anti cheat LOL
- Switched back to spigot (Lag issue was worldguard leaking ram!! fixed with updated version for spigot)
- Dynmap added back (not fully functional)
- Added door & chest locks :)
- Dynmap back working full function
Day 4
Pre release progress June 21, 2024
We are getting very close to being ready :)
- Switched to PaperMC instead of spigot to fix worldguard issues succesful !
- Added autorestart to minecraft every morning at 5am to ensure performance
- Added one player sleep!
- Added proximity chat !
Day 3
Pre release progress June 20, 2024
Hello again ! This is the 3rd day of the pre release process
- We found a perfect item based economy chest shop plugin to bring back the classic survival chest shops! Unfortunely it is not updated for 1.21. This may delay the release a bit but we are working around it.
- More details of the website filled out.
- All in game permissions have been added and tested (/home /help /tpa ect) there will be a full commands list in the info tab on our main page
- VIP Rank added with a few extra but non game changing perks for anyone who wants to support !
- Discord up running smooth roles added and bot is still going strong with the automatic whitelist setup.
- Dynmap in progress :)
- PvP arena build is in progress ! Thank you @nessaface again
- PvP situation figured out. Pvp will be optional with /pvp (rules to follow)
- Hopefully today we can finish the info tab but thats so long and boring, chatgpt will have to help for sure.
Afternoon Session progress
- Dynmap up and working (rendering map over night)
- Worldguard plugin working with new 1.21
Day 2
Pre release progress June 19, 2024
This is the progress of the 2nd day of friendlysmp development
- First Logo Implemented
- Spawn Build Commencing
- Custom discord bot dev v1.1 working. (Accepting whitelists through discord fully automatic)
- More work on website, nav bar icons. Text change/add - Theme changes.

Day 1
Pre release progress June 18, 2024
This is progress from the first day of FriendlySMP pre launch.
- Server files setup, basic plugins added (essentials, chestshop, ect)
- Updated to 1.21
- Spawn Build commenced, building by Nessaface
- Website Started, Azuriom source installed and admin configuration process started
- FriendlySMP.com domain purchase
- Custom Discord Whitelist bot development started
